Every project starts with a detailed hand-drawn rendering showing exact placement of the acanthus scrollwork and color palette. Physical tile samples are presented alongside so the client can see how the colors will actually look in the water before a single piece is cut.
The acanthus scroll border wraps the entire perimeter of the pool — waterline, steps, and spa wall. Every piece of smalti glass was hand-cut individually by our artisans.
Our team has created a stunning 3-D drawing of your pool using Google SketchUp, giving you a comprehensive view of the pool’s design, including the pool floor and the entrance steps. The intricate details of the acanthus scrolls and the mosaic tiles are beautifully rendered, showcasing the rich colors and textures of the materials used. The 3-D drawing provides a clear picture of the overall design and allows you to see exactly how the pool and its features will look in your outdoor space.
This Google SketchUp drawing is a powerful tool that will help you visualize your dream pool and make any necessary adjustments to the design before construction begins. Let us help you bring your vision to life. Contact us to learn more about our custom mosaic solutions.

This Greco Roman all-tile mosaic pool was installed at a luxury California estate. Every surface — floor, walls, steps, spa, and waterline — is covered in hand-cut smalti glass. The design draws directly from ancient Roman bath mosaic traditions — opus vermiculatum outlining, tesserae laid to follow the contour of each ornamental form. For historical reference on ancient Greco Roman mosaics, see the Getty Museum.
The Greco Roman mosaic style is one of our signature specialties. This pool features hand-cut smalti glass with acanthus leaf scrollwork at the waterline and a central medallion on the pool floor. All-tile Greco Roman pools require precise coordination between mosaic fabrication and pool shell preparation. We work directly with pool builders to ensure substrate compatibility and long-term bond strength.
The Greco Roman tradition encompasses acanthus leaves, laurel wreaths, key borders, wave scrolls, meander patterns, and figurative elements from mythology. Some clients prefer a restrained geometric approach with a single key border and medallion. Others want a fully immersive Greco Roman treatment across the entire pool.
