Mosaiclegs Art Studio makes hand-cut mosaic for luxury pools, spas and interiors across the Coachella Valley — Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta, Indian Wells, Palm Desert, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs and Indio. We work with pool builders, architects and designers, and directly with owners on private commissions.
What the desert does to a pool finish
Intense UV, wide day-to-night thermal cycling and aggressive pool chemistry are what make plaster chalk and standard tile delaminate. Smalti is hand-poured opaque glass — non-porous, UV-stable and thermally inert, so color and bond are unaffected by the conditions that degrade everything else. It is the same material as Byzantine mosaics that have lasted 1,500 years.
Most work is smalto, Venetian glass, with smalti where a design needs fine detail; both are pool-rated, and the material is whatever the project calls for. We also work in tumbled and honed marble and gold-leaf glass.

How a commission runs
Send the finished dimensions, the substrate and a reference image. You get a numbered shop drawing before anything is cut, physical samples to confirm color, and progress photographs through fabrication. Smaller pieces run 3–6 weeks from design approval and larger ones 6–16 weeks.
Setting
We fabricate; setting is a separate trade. Your mosaic arrives paper-faced in numbered sections keyed to a setting drawing, ready for a tile setter. Most clients use their own. If you don’t have one, we work with installers across the valley who know both the heat and the seasonal build calendar.
We work directly with your pool builder so the substrate is prepared to our specifications, and stay available to your setter through the install.
