Custom mosaic for Northeast and Mid-Atlantic pools

Mosaiclegs Art Studio makes custom mosaic for pools, spas and interiors across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic — New York City, the Hamptons and Westchester, Connecticut, Boston and New England, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia. We work with pool builders, architects and designers, and directly with owners on private commissions.

The Dahlia House

An all-tile glass mosaic pool for a Northern Virginia pool builder we have worked with for more than a decade: a three-tone Greek key turning every corner of an eight-sided plan, and a laurel wreath around a script monogram. See the Dahlia House. In Boston we made a hand-cut marble border for the lobbies of a historic building on Commonwealth Avenue, and for a client near Philadelphia, a seahorse panel. The same builder’s Greek-style pool is ours too.

Winters, and the glass

Glass mosaic is impervious: there is no absorbed water inside to freeze and expand, so it is unaffected by Northeast and Mid-Atlantic winters. What matters is the installation around it — the substrate, waterproofing, movement joints and setting materials. Our page on Glass Mosaic in Freezing Climates covers it for your installer.

Plan around the season

Setting materials need to go down above 50°F, so the outdoor install window is fixed by the weather. Start the design early enough that the mosaic arrives with time to set before it turns cold; tell us the date you need it on site and we will plan to it.

What we make

  • Waterline borders — Greek key, acanthus scroll, geometric and gradient designs

  • Pool floor medallions — sea turtles, family crests, Greco-Roman designs, 30 in. to 12 ft

  • All-tile pool interiors — floor, walls, steps and waterline

  • Architectural murals — interior and exterior, residential and public

Northeast and Mid-Atlantic questions

What does a custom pool mosaic cost?

Waterline borders run $150–$400 per linear foot, floor medallions $3,000–$5,000, and a full all-tile pool floor $35,000–$120,000+.

Do you install?

We fabricate; your tile setter installs. We stay available to your setter through the install.

How long does it take?

Most commissions run 6–8 weeks from design approval, plus shipping. A single medallion can be about 3 weeks.

What do you need to quote?

The finished dimensions, the substrate and a reference image. You get a numbered shop drawing before anything is cut.
