Island Pools on the Rocks Above the Sea

Custom mosaic for Caribbean pools

Mosaiclegs Art Studio makes custom mosaic for pools, spas and interiors across the Caribbean — the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and Nevis, the Bahamas and beyond. We work with architects, pool builders and owners, and ship finished mosaics ready for the local tile setter.

On St. Thomas

A round pool and spa on a rock ledge above the sea, both covered in a deep blue blend of vitreous glass, with sea turtles on the wall and floor. See the cliffside pool on St. Thomas.

On Nevis

For a resort villa on Nevis we supplied about 400 square feet of 3/4 in. glass mosaic in a soft pistachio green, shipped through a Miami freight forwarder.

Built for sun and salt air

Glass mosaic is non-porous and colorfast, so color holds up to tropical sun, salt air and pool chemistry. Most island work is vitreous glass; smalti is used where the design calls for hand-cut detail.

Shipping to the islands

Every mosaic leaves our studio paper-faced in numbered sections keyed to a setting drawing. Freight to the island is arranged and quoted with the mosaic, and you get the same drawings, samples and progress photographs as any other commission.

What we make

  • Waterline borders — Greek key, acanthus scroll, geometric and gradient designs

  • Pool floor medallions — sea turtles, family crests, Greco-Roman designs, 30 in. to 12 ft

  • All-tile pool interiors — floor, walls, steps and waterline

  • Architectural murals — interior and exterior, residential and public

Waterline borders run $150–$400 per linear foot, floor medallions $3,000–$5,000, and a full all-tile pool floor $35,000–$120,000+.

Do you install?

We fabricate; your tile setter installs. We stay available to your setter through the install.

How long does it take?

Most commissions run 6–8 weeks from design approval, plus shipping to the island. A single medallion can be about 3 weeks.

What do you need to quote?

The finished dimensions, the substrate and a reference image. You get a numbered shop drawing before anything is cut.
