A dragon drawn for one pool
This pool sits in the gardens of an estate in Reno, Nevada, beside a pool house with a slide and a garden of stone lanterns and koi ponds. The owners wanted a dragon on the floor, so the design was drawn to the shape of this pool, coiling down its length so it reads whole from the house and the deck.
The scales run from jade to emerald green, edged with red fins and white spots. The head is cobalt and gold with a mane in flame colors, and every scale, fin and eye was cut by hand.

From painted design to studio floor
The design began as a painted drawing beside the glass colors it would be made in. Once the colors were approved, the dragon was drawn full size and set in our studio, section by section, so the whole piece could be seen and checked before it shipped.
