What affects your quote
1. Type of Mosaic
A border, a single medallion and a complete pool floor have different design and fabrication requirements. Define which surfaces are included before comparing budgets.
2. Materials
Smalti, vitreous glass and marble offer different color ranges and surface qualities. We discuss the material for your design and application as part of the quote.
3. Intricacy and Detail
Fine shading, small hand-cut pieces and tight curves require more studio time than a bold geometric pattern covering the same area.
We review design detail alongside your budget and schedule. The quotation reflects the design actually specified.
4. Size
For a border, provide the run length and band width. For a medallion, provide its diameter or overall dimensions. For a pool floor, share the plans and surface area. Corners, curves and steps also affect the layout.
5. Installation & shipping
Installation is handled and priced by your tile contractor or project team. Finished mosaics arrive paper-faced in numbered sections with a keyed layout.

Waterline border example
A waterline border adds a decorative band without covering the full pool floor. Its width, pattern and corner transitions affect the quote.
At the published example rate of $200–$300 per linear foot, a 120-foot run is $24,000–$36,000 for the mosaic. This is a budgeting illustration, not a project quote. Installation and delivery terms must be confirmed separately.
Pool floor medallions
A medallion creates a focal point within the pool floor or spa. Published pricing for pieces 30 inches to 5 feet in diameter is $3,000–$6,000; larger pieces are quoted individually.
The motif, color detail and piece size matter as much as diameter when planning the budget.
All-tile pool floors
An all-tile pool floor can combine a central design, a patterned field and borders. The published range is $35,000–$120,000+.
Confirm whether your brief covers the floor only or also includes walls, steps and the spa. Those surfaces should be identified in the quote rather than assumed to be included.
Compare the same scope
When comparing estimates, check the material, dimensions, design detail and surfaces included. Confirm design approval, fabrication, mounting format, delivery and installation responsibility.
A quote for one medallion is not comparable to a complete pool interior, even if both are described as a custom pool mosaic.
